Information assurance (IA) is the practice of assuring information and managing risks related to the use, processing, storage, and transmission of information or data and the systems and processes used for those purposes. CSEA utilizes published guidance to provide our customers with insight into the risk associated with operation of their mission critical systems. Federal Government customer services are based on the Defense Information Assurance Certification and Accreditation Process (DIACAP) soon to be updated to the Risk Management Framework. State government and industry/commercial services are based on NIST guidance for the Certification and Accreditation of information systems.
